Very interesting and readable book exploring the true life stories of fifty or so individuals as they figure out their purpose in life.

Shows the complexities of being an adult trying to find the right balance of all the big issues - money, family, career choice, sacrifices, societal pressures.

No easy answers, as you might expect, but gets you reflecting on your own life.

Quite a heavy read for a kids book but a fitting tale to delve into in a pandemic.

Based on a true story, the author does a splendid job of imagining what the young boys would have gone through physically and mentally stranded on their rugged island for the best part of a year not knowing when and if they will be rescued.

What can I say? He has a great way with words and turns the ordinary into something hilarious.

I particularly liked his description of learning French.
